Canadian tenor David Menzies is equally in demand for concert and operatic performances. His stage repertoire encompasses roles in Così fan tutte, The Rape of Lucretia, Albert Herring, The Magic Flute, Alcina, Acis and Galatea, Il Matrimonio Segreto and Little Women, performing with L'Opéra de Montréal, Opera McGill, Banff Arts Festival, Green Mountain Opera Festival, The Musical Offering, and Opera Nuova.
In concert he has appeared in Bach's St John Passion (Evangelist), B Minor Mass, Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzer, Dvorak's Requiem, Handel's Dixit Dominus, Israel in Egypt, Messiah and Athalia, Mendelssohn's Lobgesgang Symphony and Psalm 21, Mozart's Requiem and Vespers, Rachmaninov's Vespers and Liturgy of St John Chrysostom and Orff's Carmina Burana with the Winnipeg Symphony, Thunder Bay Symphony, McGill Chamber Orchestra, Aldeburgh Festival (Snapes Proms), Orchestre de l'Île, McGill Symphony Orchestra, Banff Arts Festival, Canzona, Winnipeg Singers, Winnipeg Philharmonic, the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, and Choeur St-Laurent. He performs regularly as soloist with Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montréal and Ensemble Viva Voce.
In the 2009-2010 season, in addition to completing a Doctor of Music degree at McGill University, he will present a Lecture-Recital on the music of Britten, Tippett, Coulthard and Archer. Other performances include Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Mozart Vespers, Messiah, Alcina, and recitals of English and Italian art song.
